Children’s Art Class

3D Illustration Workshop for 2nd -6th graders

Instructor:  Caryn Blum MA

Fee: $30  October 25th  3-5pm

                  Nov. 4th  2-4pm

Class Description:

Students will have hands on skill development with multiple art media, and connects with visual arts and language arts national teaching and learning standards. Students will be able to imagine and design

unique illustrated characters based on their own ideas, interests and passions. They will develop a theme around this character based on the elements of stories, their imagination, and examples of famous artists and illustrators throughout history. They will explore developing a unique and well-crafted environment as a “mini-set” which will serve as a background for their character. This set-design will look a bit like a diorama, and can be photographed to become a contemporary style of illustration. Students can create small vignettes, or entire stories with text.

We will display them in a digital blog, and exhibit our work at the end of the workshop! If you enjoy stories, characters and using your own ideas to make art, join this workshop!

Student need to bring:

1 pack of multi color sculpty clay (Walmart, Michaels or art supply store)

1 cardboard shoebox size liquid glue (any water soluble glue-medium individual bottle)

Small tubes of red, yellow, blue and white acrylic or tempera paint Any brand of small 2-8oz. tubes of acrylic is fine. (Michaels sells them for $5 for a set.)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

India Folk Art painting

Instructor:  Khushbu Randerwala

Come create a wonderful folk art piece using markers with Khushbu, Textile Designer also an Art & Drawing instructor.  This class will accept parent and  child

In this class participants will learn Madhubani Folk Art Painting.  The subject is “Tree of Life”.

This vibrantly colored, traditional Indian art helps develop concentration and hand/eye coordination.

Step by step instruction will be given.  

All supplies are included.  (an old shirt or apron is recommended)

 

October 28th 1:30pm to 3:30

Class fee:  $70 for parent and 1 child (must be at least 10 years old)

                  $40 for 1 adult

New Fall Zentangle

Instructor: Mary Boettcher

In this class you will have your choice of one 3 ½” x 3 11/2” zentangle tiles, a spider web (black/white) or a Zentangle tile with color. You will also be doing a mini pumpkin on a 2” x 2” tile

All materials are included.

Join us for one of the most relaxing of art mediums.

Fee: $35

Oct. 18th from 6-8pm

Oct. 21th from 1-3pm
